Tirap and Longding are two of the remotest and lest explored districts of Arunachal Pradesh that are finally getting promoted as its latest tourism circuit. Inhabited by Noctes, Wanchos, Tutsas, and Ollos, this area has much to see.
The Anini Seven Lakes Trek is a difficult trek through the dense forests and alpine highlands of Upper Dibang Valley, not very far from the Tibetan frontiers. You’ll get to the lakes once you cross the dense rainforests but crossing the first hurdle itself takes some serious effort.
Geshela Peak is a smaller and nearer peak around 25 KM from Tawang compared to higher and more famous Gorichen. The road is a detour that starts from PT Tso Lake & meets the Tawang Bomdila Highway offers great views.
Chilipam Gompa (Zangdokpalri Monastery) is a beautiful gompa near Rupa, just ahead of Shergaon. Additionally, we also visited Yokmuzor Buddha Park at Mushaksing Village near Jigaon, where we accidentally arrived after a mistake.
