Vintage Mumbai Picnik’ed
Let me share a few vintage SoBo photographs taken on a day during the Kala Ghoda festival. South Bombay, with its colonial architecture and nostalgic charm, always offers something that the rest of the city can never do. Now that I am out of Mumbai, SoBo looks even more seductive. Some of these photographs have been clicked by fellow slacker Kontham Sudhir.
I have used heavy post processing on these photographs. Basically I wanted to experiment the possibilities of the excellent online photo editing service Picnik.
Due to my incompetence, some of the photographs may look a bit overdone or even over the top. Nevertheless I enjoyed using Picnik and especially liked the cinemascope mode which has been applied in four out of nine photographs here.
Let me start with a tacky one… I know it sucks but I found a certain Edwoodian charm in this effect.
A melancholy building, a trademark of SoBo…
Something that might be a part of someone’s childhood… (not mine though)
A balloon hawker amidst the Sunday crowd…
lovely images!
thnks magic
Very good captures and touchups. I couldn’t tell if the processing in anyway is overdone. They all look pretty neat to me.
thanks Ahimaaz Rajesh… wasnt sure if the effects were going to go down well with everyone…
