Houston is better known as the Space City, thanks to its NASA facility. However, there are many other things to explore here. Houston is one of the largest cities in the United States and a major center of trade and culture. In case you are indeed planning to pay a visit to this great city, here are a few Houston hotel recommendations for a comfortable stay.

If you’re traveling with your dog

Do you want a hotel that’s reasonably priced yet has all the facilities you want and also welcomes your dog along with you? In that case, Omni Houston Hotel is a perfect choice for you. Once you’re done relaxing in your luxurious room, you can visit the beautiful lobby or go for a delightful spa treatment. The pool here is an attraction, too, with a sun deck and a cascading waterfall. Corporate travellers can avail the services of the business center, while health freaks can head to the fitness center.

If you want everything close by

Hotel Derek Houston Galleria is centrally located with many great shopping and entertainment destinations in the vicinity. The rooms here are decorated with local art, and the in-house restaurant is well known for its Texan cuisine. Another added attraction here is the poolside movie screen, which you can enjoy while floating in the water. Despite all these attractions, the rooms also come at a very affordable rate.

If you want to see what premium feels like

The St. Regis Houston is among the more expensive options here, but these rates are high for a reason. The St. Regis offers luxurious accommodations, and you get unique amenities such as complimentary video games, along with more commonplace amenities such as free Wi-Fi and an honor bar. The hotel also boasts a heated outdoor pool, a full-service spa, a sauna, a fitness center, and a business center. In-house dining options include a restaurant, a bar, a tea lounge, and even a separate wine room.

If you want to experience true luxury

The Hyatt Regency Houston is an upscale hotel where the amenities offered go far beyond the usual. Each room has high-end furniture, an iPod docking station, and an iHome stereo. It’s also possible to book Pure rooms designed to protect people who suffer from various allergies. The hotel is centrally located and gives you the option to book tickets for many of Houston’s famous sporting events while reserving your room.

If you have eclectic tastes

If you’re artistically and aesthetically inclined, then the Hotel ICON Autograph Collection is a great option for you. This hotel takes special care to decorate each room with a fusion of rustic Southern elements and chic design. In each room, you’ll also find amenities such as coffee makers, mini fridges, workstations, laptop safes, and complimentary high-speed internet access. The restaurant is very popular and offers delicious Texan cuisine as well as an eclectic collection of fine wine. If you need further relaxation, the hotel also has a fine day spa.

Love Houston! We spent a long weekend there and used the CityPASS which was a great way to experience some of the main sights and attractions in and around the city. Favorite part had to be experiencing the Johnson Space Center which is a little out of the way on the way to Galveston but well worth the trip.
